Sheet masks

A sheet soaked in serum, left on for 15 to 20 minutes. The Real Care range by Some By Mi features one active per mask, such as the Real Hyaluron Hydra Care Mask for hydration or the Real Tea Tree Calming Care Mask for soothing.

Hydrogel masks

Thicker, they cling well to the skin and can be left on longer, as directed by the brand. The Hydro Cera-nol Real Deep Mask by Biodance and the Advanced Snail Mucin Glass Glow Hydrogel Mask by Cosrx are examples.

Sleeping masks

Applied as the last step in the evening, instead of or over your cream: the Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack by Purito or the Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack by Skin1004.

Wash-off masks

Creams or clays left on for about ten minutes then rinsed off, such as the Rice Mask by I'm From for radiance or the Poremising Quick Clay Stick Mask by Skin1004 for pores.

How often?

One to three masks a week are enough for most skin types. Space out exfoliating or clay masks more on sensitive skin. After a sheet mask, do not rinse: pat in the remaining serum, then apply your moisturiser.
